It is probably no surprise to you that Haitian athletes form one of the most visible minority groups in the National Football League, the world richest league and the most popular sport in the United States. However, no other Haitian families have contributed more to this visibility than the Cromarties. Let's meet some of them.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

He is one of the best known Cromarties in the NFL. Born in Bradenton, Florida in 1986 of Haitian parents, Dominique excelled in Track and Field and was on his way to a possible Olympic berth but has chosen a career in the NFL. Dominique was a Superbowl finalist with the Broncos in 2013. He was recently suspended by the New York Giants following an argument with his coach.

Antonio Cromartie

Antonio was born in Tallahassee, Florida in 1984 of Haitian parents and like his cousin, he also ran Track and Field. He is a very well-known and successful NFL player who has signed multi-million dollar contracts with teams like Chargers, Jets, Cardinals, and Colts. The New York Jets signed Antonio for a reported 32 million for 4 years in 2011. His most recent contract was with the Indiana Colts who released him in 2016. Cromartie reportedly has 14 children and counting.

Da'Mon Jonnel Cromartie-Smith

Jonnel is less known than some of the other Cromarties but he has been a very good representative of the family name in the NFL. Unlike his cousins Dominique and Antonio, he was born on the west coast of USA in Riverside California in 1987.  He has another brother in the NFL, Terrell Smith, who does not go by the household Cromartie last name. Jonnel is currently sidelined with an injury. His last club is the Ottawa Redblacks.

Marcus Cromartie

Marcus is a guarantee from the prolific Cromartie family to the NFL that the  supply of great athletes is not going to run dry any time soon. He is only 26 and has bright future ahead of him. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1990. Marcus most recent contract is with the Houston Texans with an average yearly salary of $775,000.

No doubt, the NFL will not run out of Cromaties in the next generation.
